Peskov: Russian government working on sanctions retaliation

MOSCOW, Apr 18 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is working on retaliation against Western sanctions, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

"The government, the government headquarters are formulating them and working on them. This is why, we will wait for information from them. Anyway, as we’ve said many times, retaliation will be designed so that it suits own interests best," Peskov said.

The official said that discussion of sanctions was not on the agenda for Monday.

Peskov also said that information about the countries that agreed to buy Russian gas for rubles cannot be published. Payments for the deliveries that took place after the president had signed a decree on the obligatory ruble payments will start in May, he added.
